The Sr. Project/Process Engineer - Organic Chemistry leads a team of scientists providing direction in the area or organic chemistry as technical support for bulk pharmaceutical chemical manufacturing operations. The position provides direction and recommendation and troubleshoots process issues and optimization based on organic chemistry laboratory work. He/she has departmental responsibility for a bulk process(es) to ensure maintenance of yield, timecycle, and quality performance. He/she recommends and executes programs of value to the company which lead to increased profits or lowered costs; these may involve process changes, regulatory filings, demonstrations, and investments. He/she partners with finance and operations to value these efforts to develop cost standards for new or modified processes.
Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering and 5 years’ experience with hands on organic or analytical chemistry testing methodology in a laboratory setting and analyzing results toward a chemical process. Will also consider a Ph.D. in the above fields and 2 years of the above experience. Experience within a GMP environment preferred. Experience working with pharmaceutical regulations (FDA or international agencies) preferred.
