Position: Life Scientist
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Somerville, NJ

Description:
Successful candidate must have strong biochemical, biomedical and/or biopharmaceutical scientific capabilities and have demonstrated the ability of establishing innovative solutions to technically challenging problems through work experience in a research environment.
Typical relevant degree disciplines include Cell Biology or Biomedical engineering.
Experience with stem cells, epithelial cell biology and in vitro assay development is a plus.
The candidate will initiate technical investigations, prepare protocols, develop, and apply advanced scientific methods to solve complex biotechnical problems.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent technical skills encompassing general mammalian cell culture, stem cell biology, signal transduction, gene and protein expression analysis, cell culture media formulation, flow cytometry, and immunocytochemistry.

Requirement:
To qualify for this technically challenging position the candidate must possess a master’s degree with 1-5 years of research experience in the biotechnology/life science industry.
Candidates with a strong interest in the areas of stem cell biology, tissue engineering and advanced cell culture techniques are strongly preferred.
Familiarity with standard cell and molecular biology methods.
Research background in cell differentiation methodologies and bioassay development.
Qualified candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
More emphasis on a candidate with tissue engineering, microfluidic, kidney or liver physiology backgrounds.
